Improving your work style for a better life. Some simple tips that can elevate your spirits!

We all tend to face ups and downs while at work and this gradually reflects in the output. There have been many situations when I have found it difficult to pen down even a single line while writing blogs and it has even made me think whether I am unfit for the job. I bet many of you out there have found yourself in similar knots and the worst of it is however hard you try to concentrate you find your focus tripping.

I know some of my friends who have sought out medical help to improve their concentration to prevent themselves from breaking down due to the extraterrestrial pressure.

Let me put it in a better way for you:

TIME:

We have grown up to hear the famous saying “the time once lost is lost and you never get it back”. There are a large number of activities that consume a lot of time unnecessarily and it tampers the hard geared focus that has been mastered by you to handle the most important tasks and ultimately you are running out of time which spoils your mood and puts you into a trance state and the result you are stressed out.

I have found that several times I used to check my Emails and even the social media notifications while working on a webinar or some other project that needed my immediate attention. This has made me lose a lot of time that could have eventually contributed to developing great articles to help out people.

I myself would never recommend multitasking unless you have no other way out because we are not machines and we are human beings who can dedicate our full focus to just one task at a time and have always proved that we are good at churning out results when we are presenting our time to a single task.

When you are trying to switch in between tasks you are wasting your time unintentionally and that time could be utilized for a better reason for accomplishing a task in a better way.

You can start your day by checking the emails that might have turned in at night and just sneak peak your social media profiles and then leave it for the time being and move ahead with the tasks that count. Chart out a time schedule for each task that is meant to be completed in the day and as the person being assigned with the task you are totally aware of the time needed to complete each of them so you can help yourself out.

I do that usually whenever I have to write up articles and blogs for different clients in a day to keep myself away from any kind of distractions. I try to avoid meeting up with maximum number of people when I am bugged up with the writing thing which needs my full concentration. It is always a suggestable method to keep yourself aloof from any kind of distractions

We all need a break to improve productivity. Honestly, whenever I sit up and work on a single article for prolonged hours I start losing the thread and I have understood that taking a break always helps. The break need not be long, just switch off your laptop, get up from your seat, take a walk or sip a cup of coffee, talk to your colleague and come back to your seat. It actually helps to think better, improving creativity.

SURROUNDINGS:

Office set up is always a clear way of strategically getting work done from a person. But sometimes it is a great idea to swap places or move to an open space near to the window where you can relax and work if the nature of your job demands creativity.

Do not stick on to your seat because it affects productivity. Research has proved that constant concentration deteriorates the work quality without the individual’s knowledge. It is always a good idea to talk face to face rather than using the email to converse unless it is highly official. It arouses your spirit when you enter into a conversation with your colleagues or subordinates. You can come up with innovative and creative ideas when you talk with your colleague.

Checklists are an excellent idea to remind yourself of the remaining tasks when you are overworked up with things and forget the rest of the priorities that need immediate attention.
